    Terry Brooks

Hehe, the phrase 'Don't judge a book by its cover' comes to mind. I've enjoyed TBs books in the past and will definitely be picking up his latest to read. Haven't heard anything negative about Mr Brooks and I'll not 'judge the book by its author'. A good read is a good read.:D

    Vladimir Nabokov: Glory

Drum roll if you please What an ending... Er, I think:confused: I feel has if I've missed something and will need to go back and check, and recheck.... Ah, Martin, Martin, Martin. What a daydreamer he be. Very endearing. Argh, Sonia, Sonia, Sonia. What a gal - what a tease. Not...

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Me like Tom Hanks:) I guess I should read the book too. It has been on my wishlist for an age now and finally I have my very own copy. And I also prefer to read the book before watching the movie.

    Vladimir Nabokov: Glory

Having been put on the spot:eek: Dunno your honour. But if I let my imagination take over I can only think that perhaps the great man was alluding to the use of said walking cane as a fashion accessory rather than an aid to walking. At some point in history no gentleman worth his salt would...

    Vladimir Nabokov: Glory

Exactly!! If I let my fanciful thoughts run away with me, as is my want sometimes, I can almost imagine VN sitting in a comfy chair opposite me, watching as I take in the pages of Glory, and all the time reading the flitting emotions that are mirrored in my face and SMILING. And every now and...

    Vladimir Nabokov: Glory

Ah, it's a cozy little corner don't ya think, especially with the sun-setting a soft glow through the window. Time to switch readling lamp on. And I'd say thanks in gaelic but I can't remember how - shame on me - so will 'merci' do?:D

    Angels & Demons reference?

It's been a while since I read the christian bible but I don't think it gives any clues as to when Jesus was born. And perhaps that was an omission to show that his birth was not important in the grand scheme of things. That what he did during his brief life on earth was of greater importance...

    Vladimir Nabokov: Glory

Ooh, I get to be second in line. The thrill of it all. As for your intro.... TOES I'm almost there and definitely looking forward to hearing from all and sundry and getting 'stuck in'. So come y'all join the foray:D

    Vladimir Nabokov

Panic filled the air as she stumbled and fumbled for a little Glory to break through the fog of despair and terror. Finally, clasping her hands over her glorious treasure she wiped the sleep from her eyes and began to quietly read. Sunshine broke through and a warmth spread throughout her...

Oh Peder.... I wonder if SFGs dared to venture into Nabokovia;) And now he's laying blame squarely at Peder's feet - tut, tut.

    Reading bestsellers

I don't necessarily follow the 'best sellers' list and I read a lot of books through personal recommendations. When visiting book stores I tend to take my time going from bookshelf to bookshelf. And whatever catches my eye..... And I'll give most books a try. I love a good story with strong...

    Good morning

Yeah, and when you've finished with ABC you can come further on down. We've still got about a gazillion trees that need cutting and clearing (after the storm). I've got the coffee brewing:D

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Ya gotta point there woman. I guess we could hire a shopping carrier - as opposed to a 'people' carrier to travel in:D Ooh, ooh we could hire a chauffeur driven vehicle to take us shopping. And when we've filled the vehicle up we send it on it's merry way back to the hotel so that it can...
