Soured milk has about the same consistency of yogurth, things don't easily go through it. Example image
Looking in a German dictionary it says that it translates to "schwedische Sauermilch" so perhaps it's not even something common in the rest of Scandinavia.
I would miss caviar in a tube which I've got the impression isn't very common outside of Scandinavia. I don't like to eat boiled egg without it.
I might also miss soured milk if that's not available. I just don't fancy müsli or cereals in milk and yogurth is so disgustingly sweet.
Trailers that contain growling one liners would probably deter me from watching a movie. It gives the impression that they don't have a lot to offer in actual content.
I usually try to avoid trailers as they usually contain plenty of spoilers. I'm more interested in watching them afterwards...
I love 'Starship Troopers' by Robert A. Heinlein. It's one of my favourite books.
It has imaginative stuff like planets, races, weapons, starships and et cetera but the highlight is the military training, strategy, politics and philosphy. There are lots of developments from present time but...
You'll need some kind of webspace that allows hotlinking to upload the images.
There are webhosts that focus on this specifically. For example Photobucket
P.S. The images should be in the format of GIF, JPG or (possibly) PNG. A general rule is that GIF is the best alternative for graphics...
Tunnel in the Sky by Robert A. Heinlein
In an examination in the subject of survival, students are teleported to an unknown place and their skills to survive will be put to the test. The book has been called a science fiction version of 'Lord of the Flies' but don't let the genre or comparison...
Some book forums have an entire forum section for current reads in which you make a thread for your current read and post your reasons for choosing the book, initial thoughts and possibly final thoughts when you've finished the book.
The "currently reading thread" and "recently finished...
I recommend 'Under the Skin' by Michel Faber. The setting is the A9 in the Scottish highlands and the plot revolves a young woman that picks up muscular hitchhikers.
Of course, you might not count Faber as British writer since he was born in the Netherlands and raised in Australia but he's...
Some books are translated from English English to American English, changing spelling, vocabulary and sometimes adding more information about the places for example.
Are books in American English translated to English English as well?
I'd say that a lot of Motokid's most interesting threads have been political actually (e.g. smoking in public laws, legalising marijuana and prostitution).
I think that it would have been a good idea to divide the general forum if discussions about politics and religion hadn't been verboten. There's not much discussion worth dividing otherwise.
I used to read the illustrated classic comics as well. They made it possible to get to know Shakespeare's stories without having to be exposed to his poetic prose.
Recently I read a adaptation of 'City of Glass' (first book in the New York trilogy) by Paul Auster. It had simplistic art and at...
Welcome to the forum of idealism girrrl.
I'll answer the questions that I consider interesting.
Are you a fan of manga? Not a big fan. I haven't found a lot that suits my taste. I prefer watching animes.
