Whether or not it's considered cheating shouldn't be important.
Audio books are similar to movie adaptations in the sense that it's someone else's interpretation of the prose and the characters. In that way you could be missing out on your own intepretation and possibly the way that the...
'Late Night Shopping'. Nice movie, great fun.
Spent a lot of the time trying to figure out where I'd seen the actor with slackerish appearance before. Thought it was something that was great fun as well but when I checked it at IMDb it turns out that it was the television series 'The House...
A lot of people consider republicanism to be a non issue though since it's possible for a democracy to be a "monarchy" even if the method of choosing head of state isn't democratic. It doesn't bother everyone that you can be born to be a royalty.
Speaking of orange ice creams I'm curious to...
We have pride festivals here. A lot of guys with buzz cuts dress in tight tank tops and jeans shorts (the homosexual community can be so traditional).
I believe that the message of the festival is to proclaim the right to exist and put more importance on sexual orientation rather than...
The method above is called hot linking, leeching or bandwidth theft. Webmasters that are victims of it hopefully switches the images to something disgusting.
I liked 'Lestat the Vampire' the best. It has the most interesting plotline in my opinion and in it Armand is an interesting character because of his flaws.
It's one of my favourite books in the Vampire Chronicles (though I would list it in the third place out of the six books I've read). I recommend reading it.
It has an interesting concept that doesn't vilify the devil completely.
spoilers for the books 2-4(5) in the Vampire Chronicles...
Will do. I'll just have to make an effort to borrow all the four books in the series from the libraries at the same time so that I'm not left wondering what happened in the next books in case they're borrowed by someone else.
Have you tried the next series 'Ender's Shadow'?
I haven't read 'Ender's Game' yet but I've got the impression that it deals with military strategy, 'Starship Troopers' by Robert A. Heinlein has that as well as political philosophy.
Along the Harry Potter fantasy genre I would recommend 'His Dark Materials' trilogy by Philip Pullman...
Having seen Thewlis in 'Naked' as an extremely rude misogynist, it felt a bit wierd to see him in a "movie for children". I had at least seen and liked him in 'Seven years in Tibet' but it was 'Naked' that made me remember him specifically.
Kookamoor, you could change your avatar to this...
Some of you have probably seen this before, it isn't new but I want to share this with my friends here that haven't seen it. It's such a nice music video.
WARNING
Contains spoilers for 'The Silence of the Lambs', partial nudity, a sexual orientation that isn't a norm and mimed profanity. Do...
I've got the impression that misogynists often have strong personalities. Just take August Strindberg for example.
When I entered this thread I was going to recommend books by Heinlein but I was thinking of a different kind of strong personality. Instead I'll recommend "Howl's Moving Castle"...
Break the Black Ice by Death in June (First track I've heard of them with female vocal)
"In this spasm
In this jerk
In this crib
A little death
For this boy
Little screams
A little blood
A tattooed rune
Break the black ice
In this kiss (not mine; not yours)
In this curse (not...
