They're just numbers. The majority of people relate 666 to the devil and 13 is deemed as unlucky. I have my own unlucky numbers, relating to things apparent to me. If everyone else wants the same unlucky number then so be it, I have no qualms about it. Even if I do think it's just superstition. :)

Nothing is wrong with the number 13. It's just superstition!

So, you didn't enjoy The Time Traveler's Wife either? I found it tedious and long-winded. After the rave reviews I heard and read, I couldn't wait to read it. A hundred pages into it, I couldn't wait to put it down! :rolleyes:

Why do you say he's a dire author? I think Chuck Palahniuk's writing style is really good! I have read Invisible Monsters, I thought it was fab!

Purely out of interest, what is your favourite piece of contemporary fiction? This is my genre of choice. Hopefully I will see some familiar titles and some new ones.

I started The Line Of Beauty on Saturday and I'm about half-way through it. So far so good! The prose is amazing and brilliantly written, I'm aching to finish it!
