Just saw the trailer yesterday. Looks awesome. Haven't read the actual story yet and I don't plan to for awhile, but in time I'll pick it up (busy with a war novel right now).
I wear baggie shorts and occasionally a beanie cap. You're not going to smack me, are you, SFG? *Curls into a ball and cries*
As for the commercials, I found them amusing, not offensive. You want "awkward," commercials? Go watch the European one advertising movies. I don't remember the link...
You told me you enjoyed the company.
Oh, and Stewart, I agree with both assessments. It's a shame that he had to turn into such a garrulous writer, but I'm sure there will be some enjoyable scenes to read. As for his ideas, a lot of his stories to me have always seemed just...
The backflap of Lisey's Story was a mesh of dark reds, and swashes of gloomy purples. The paperback was a quiet path of snow and the symbolic shovel on the front.
And I don't judge a book by it's cover, but usually I prefer the cover not to look like crap :\
I liked Blaze's cover, though.
One thing I look forward to when awaiting the the announcement of a new book from an author whose writing I enjoy is the revealing of said book's new cover.
Cell was kind of lame. Lisey's Story put me off a bit (and then pissed me off when I saw the beautiful cover art for it's paper back...
Holy camzayers(THAT'S A NEW WORD!)! http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1545102-2,00.html
I don't know, it's seeming sexier the more I look into it. I'll go give one a test drive if they have any, er..."sample" demonstrations at an electronic stores.
*Falls to the floor laughing*
The dog part was hilarious. *wipes tears away*
Anyhow, as for your writing, I've seen worse in published novels, and I've seen better, so what I'm saying is that you're competent. Also, don't ask for judgement on writing STYLE, because--as much as critics and...
I usually don't look for books aimed to be funny, since they tend to border on boring and dull, but two books that had me snorting and giggling are listed below:
The Bartimaeus Trilogy (I loved the guys wit, at least in the first book: two and three had it, but veered more towards plot than...
I like BOOKS, because I like BOOKS, not some fucking iPod or Gameboy with letters on it. When I want my iPod, I use my iPod, when I want my PSP, I use my PSP. Reading off a screen is a pain in the ass, and dull, and boring, and books just feel better.
Anyhow, what're your thoughts...
Bro, bro, what the hell's wrong with you? Your eyes bro, they're red, dude, bro, what the ****?
It's *sniff* nutin maaaaan, it's good maaaan, just...just listen man.
Dude, this isn't healthy!
It knows me, man...it gives me the *sniff* good shit man, gives me all I want...yeah
Dude...
Of sweet Mary Jesus son of a b^*&%.
If by getting older I somehow find myself taking interest in board games, then I'm popping the bullet at 35. I can't stand board games. I need to be moving, be with my body or with my imagination (not my mind so much, me r stoopud).
Favorites:
I -- Not perfect, but totally and utterly surreal
II -- The beach walking got annoying after awhile, but the imagination was on overdrive here
III -- It rocked
VI -- Only because I myself really liked the pacing
Not so much favorites:
IV -- It just...dragged. There...
Prepare to holster a gun at your side and make your way towards his home after finishing the final book, then. The actual IDEA of the ending is great, fits the story perfectly, but the execution...bleh. For his "magnum opus," he sure half-assed the final pages of the book. Oh, and the little...
If I'm not in the mood to write or I'm struggling with a part in writing, I read.
If I'm bored to all hell and too tired to do anything else, I read.
If I'm lucky enough to be reading an exceptional book at the time and want to see what happens next (A Thousand Splendid Suns was the last...
I like this. I read it over it a long time ago and never commented, but, well, the whole 'self-conscious' thing makes me think you're still in the insecure stages of writing. So, I won't give any editorial advice, instead say that you have strength. Keep going, keep writing, and good luck.
Change pie in the sky to something rhyming with way, it gives a better flow.
The whoel Terri Shaivo's thing is stupid, take it out.
Market value line is fine, the one after it is complete garbage, trash it or redo it.
I like this, but if you can't handle honesty, then get out. If you...
