Radiohead - Pink Floyd - Counting Crows - Pearl Jam - Black Crows - Alice in Chains - Tool - Prince - Tori Amos - Sheryl Crow - REM - U2 - Neil Young - Dave Matthews Band - Bob Dylan -
Peter Gabriel - Metallica - Depeche Mode - Wall Flowers - Neil Finn -
still read only 300 pages of volume 1 ( referring to the progress publication), and just starting to appreciate the richness of characters - the three lechers - the father, Dimitri & the tortured Ivan (Alyosha being the white sheep, in a family of black sheep).
I think out of the albums that I've listened to so far, Peter Gabriel's "scratch my back" & Brad Mehldau's "Highway Rider" are the best. Those who love cross-over Jazz, check out the Mehldau album - BRILLIANT !!!!
What a co-incidence ? I started reading this about a week back, bbut was hampered due to various happenings. Just finished Book 1. Hope this will be extended by at least a few more weeks.
+ OCS, Weller & STP
latest albums that I listened to.. & which I like.. I recommend all three...
Saturday - Ocean Colour Scene
Wake up the Nation - Paul Weller
Stone Temple Pilots - Stone Temple Pilots
I also found a copy of Rise up by Cypress hill.... It's good --> 5-5.5/10
the new Natalie merchant album, leave your sleep , is just beautiful !!!
... and I never thought I'll say this, but I was quite taken up by the Fatboy Slim album "Here lies love"... yeah, the" Imelda Marcos" album.
yep... as for me:
Rain on the City - Freedy Johnston (a long awaited return by him, though not as great as his previous issues )
Scratch my back - Peter gabriel (a truly great CD)
soldier of love - sade ( you know sade, is well, sade )
plastic beach - gorillaz
New Amerykah Pt.2 - Erykah...
These days I am listening to Peter Gabriel's new CD - "Scratch my Back" where he literally kills 12 known tracks by other artists (heroes - David Bowie, Boy in the bubble- Simon, Philadelphia - Neil Young , street spirit - radiohead) & re-creates them to moody, slow paced songs. I enjoy it...
...and the winner is Dave Matthews Band

hello libri vermis,
Porcupine tree registers in at No.8 ( of the 14 albums I've listened to so far).
7- depeche mode
8- porcupine tree
9- mark knopfler
I like the second CD in particular. Possibly because it's because it is more consistent. The Tool...
Thus far...

The Groo Grux King
Had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, listening to Dave Matthews Band's "Big Whiskey and the Groo Grux King". Possibly the best DMB album ever, bettering "Before these crowded streets" and "Busted Stuff."
And as a result Green Day slides down one slot to give way to the Groo...
I just listened to some of the samples off the Porcupine tree album, I think it sounds awesome. It sounds as it's a cross between the early Genesis, and Tool. If anyone sounds as good as Tool, count me into their fan club ( Lateralus is one of my all time favourite albums). I am going to get...
Listened to some of the samples off Helm's album. Reminds me of Buddy Guy. Not bad. Also sampled Matisyahu & Nutini. While the latter is pleasant & kind of care free, I couldn't gel into Matisyahu. I guess these will have to go along with the Morrisey, Neil Young and Manic Street Preachers...
If the peace award is any indication, future awardees for Literature could be those who smart talk about the great literary work that they plan to do it...
lesser known artistes
I will try to find & listen to the Nutini & Helm CDs. Especially Helm could interest me, given I like Dylan. Looks like Matisyahu is not down my alley (rap/reggae isn't).
joderu, did you listen to the Greenday album (or any other albums that I've listed) ? What's your...
Camus and his works of Fiction
This is a short essay on three works of fiction by Albert Camus -The Outsider, The Fall and The plague. I thought I'd write this surmise because upon reading these three books, Camus became my favourite author.
The Outsider, a novel about a young man, who leads...
