I loved William. He was probably my favorite character. I very much enjoyed the beginning of the book (the first part) but once William died, I became bored.
While I found the psychology of the second part fascinating, it was a bit redundant for me.
I agree with Robert in regards to the...
I got my Kindle today in the mail and am obsessed with it thus far. My parents sent it to me as a birthday gift (they are so wonderful) and I've been looking forward to it for months.
When I first posted in this thread in March, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to transition from an...

Personally, I don't list or agonize. My TBR pile is just a bunch of books I have that I have yet to read. Or books I've heard about and written down because they've sparked my interest.
Thanks silverseason--I'll look into those.
I have never seen the miniseries but I think I'll check and see if my local library has it, as I've heard great things about it. My local newspaper today said that, while the movie is good, it cut out a lot of the novel, whereas the miniseries stayed...
I believe it comes out in theaters tomorrow. I have yet to read the book but I have it, so I'm going to attempt to read it ASAP so I can see the movie while it's still in theaters.
Anyone else seeing it? Let us know how it is. :flowers:
I very rarely do, but if notes are taken, it's for two reasons.
Firstly, to mark down any key points that I want to remember.
Secondly, as you mentioned, to keep characters straight. If the book is on sparknotes, many times I'll just refer to the character list instead if I've forgotton...
I completely agree. I have a TBR pile because there are many books that I have that I just haven't gotten to--not sure what that has to do with the list.
Do I feel that I should read every book that is on the list? No way in hell. I won't read anything that I don't enjoy, so if a book on...
I just finished Nickel and Dimed, by Barbara Ehrenreich--I highly recommend it.
I've started The Body Project: An Intimate History of American Girls, by Joan Jacobs Brumberg
I had quite a time today at the local Half Price Books!
Florence Harding: The First Lady, the Jazz Age, and the Death of America's Most Scandalous President, by Carl Sferrazza Anthony
Autobiography of a Face, Lucy Grealy
Driving with Dead People, Monica Holloway
A Dirty Job, Christopher...
I've read 66 books so far since the first of the year.
I've blogged about each one, so they can all be found here: Book & Reader Forums - Wells83's Blog
