    How happy is happy enough?

You'd really be surprised how much food can affect your body. I worked in a university lab for a while doing tests on people's heartrates, brain activity, temperature adjustment, and other stuff that I didn't really know about. I volunteered for the study (got paid for it) too. A change of...

    How happy is happy enough?

I advocate the use of drugs in all situations for any reason. I don't do them myself, but anyone who wants to alter their state of being is allowed to do so without punishment from me. Judgement, yes, punishment, no. The chemical imbalance in the brain does lead some people to be...

    How happy is happy enough?

Are you suggesting that we do drugs in order to be happy? Also, should we be allowed to have drugs in order to prevent people from being happy? What would happen if all those goths, emos, punks, freaks, etc. had the choice and ability to be happy? What if people started putting drugs in their...

    Baseball Fiction

"The Brothers K" is about baseball I think.

    How happy is happy enough?

So is it possible to agree on what we can define happiness as? Perhaps we should move to Belgium, which was voted happiest country in Europe. I still can't believe that they didn't make it as happiest country in the world. Anywho, I believe that I am truly happy. I actually believe that...

    AP English project on Schizophrenia

"The Eden Express" is a book by Mark Vonnegut, Kurt's son. It's an interesting true story that involves schizophrenia and hippiness.

    Libraries vs book stores

Libraries are vastly superior to any bookstore. Libraries have books that are out of print, rare, or even books that a person just wouldn't find in a bookstore. A good example of this is a text I just picked up today. "Migration of Contaminants from Buried Oil-and-Gas Drilling Fluids Within...

Movies I liked better than the books they were based on

The books are long and full of useless information. That's the problem with building an entire world, you need to leave the blueprints for people. The cartoon versions are amazing and have some of the greatest folk music from movies ever. I can't find my old tapes of them. I should buy the...

Movies I liked better than the books they were based on

There's a comedian named Jim Gaffigan that has a bit to say on this subject. "Oh yeah? You know what I liked best about the movie? No reading." I really enjoy children's fantasy that's been turned into movies. Golden Compass is an excellent example. They're just so visually stimulating then.

the books that changed your life!

J.D. Salinger's Raise High the Roofbeams, Carpenters and Seymour: an Introduction changed my life. It really made me realize the possibilities of intellect and the depth that the mind can really have. It helped me realize that ther really are other people out there that have the ability to...

    Are you gay?

So where is your office again? I assure you, I'm very real. As far as the t-rone, a low level has been linked to depression, paranoia (not AS much), and feelings of worthlessness. That's why women are more likely to get depression than men (on average, but I think that's changing since...

    Are you gay?

Poles? I think you mean a MAY pole, not a GAY pole. Little confusing. May pole. I remember reading the camomile tea and cuddles thing. I think it actually has little to do people's perception of lesbians or pillow-biters. I think it has more to do with the fact that a homosexual man...

    William Shakespeare: Macbeth

Macbeth was most definitely one of Bill's better works. While I enjoy some of the others better when actually performed, Macbeth is the best to read I think. I don't really enjoy productions of it that much. However, I did really enjoy the movie Scotland PA. If you like Macbeth, watch the...

What do bookworms do for exercise?

You want to WIN a marathon? That's highly intense. Do you mean COMPLETE a marathon? Cause that's what I shoot for. I know it's tough with college, work, and reading, but you have to do it. Make time for it. Force yourself. A lack of motivation is deadly. At least do yoga.

    Looking for Atheist Handbook

I'm looking for a good book discussing different atheist philosophy and non-theology. Any book would be okay, even a christian book discussing atheist philosophy or an atheist book discussing any other philosophy.

    Are you gay?

Seriously? I remember joking about that all the time. I didn't know that they were REAL until recently. Sometimes I just have to shake my head. Anywho, I'm straight, but I gave up sexuality (any kind) for lent. I can only be straight, gay, or bi on Sundays.

    Books about Gothenburg

Gothenburg. What a wonderful place. I can't remember reading any books that took place there, but there had to be a ton of them. I don't remember if Nils and his crow saw Gothemburg or not. I don't think they saw any cities, but I might be wrong. There are plenty of cafes around. Be sure...

    Pirating eBooks

From an ethical standpoint, if it is in a free, public domain there is nothing wrong with it. At the public library, you sometimes pay a tiny fee ($5 or so) for a lifetime membership. You merely borrow the books for a period of time until somebody else wants it. Sometimes libraries are funded...

    Bucket list

I didn't think that the Bucket List was a good movie. It seemed as though they were trying to portray it as a comedy (commercials said "Laugh out loud funny!" and things of the sort). But it wasn't funny. It had some witty dialogue here and there, but nothing that should constitute it as a...
