I Am Not Myself These Days by Josh Kilmer-Purcell

I emailed the Harper Collins rep who had her email on the back of the galley to tell her how much I enjoyed the book. She forwarded my email to the author, and he took the time to email me and thank me for reading his book. That made me really happy :)

    Best book to movie?

The Exorcist followed the book pretty well. I couldn't stand Queen of the Damned. It was my favorite of the vampire books but I thought the movie was awful.

    Memoirs of drug-addled blackouts

Shoot, it's not new. Even Zora Neale Hurston blatantly made up parts of her autobiography. The memoir I just finished reading has a few drug black outs, and actually has a blurb on the back from James Frey. I always take these things with a grain of salt and just try to enjoy the story.

    Another Scam Author: Kevin Trudeau

i've seen the infomercials and looked through the book. this is the guy who tells people not to use sunscreen, he says it is the chemicals in sunscreen that give you skin cancer, not the sun. He says the same thing about deodorant. The book has been on the best seller list for a long time...

I Am Not Myself These Days by Josh Kilmer-Purcell

I got an advanced copy of this book at work. It's a memoir about Josh who is an ad executive during the day and a drag queen named Aqua at night. At first I hadn't realized it was a memoir, but I really enjoyed it. Josh/Aqua meets and falls in love with a male escort named Jack. As Jack...

    Neil Gaiman

I liked American Gods, but it was a little too long and "epic". Stardust, Neverwhere, and Anansi Boys were much better. I liked Anansi Boys because it was a lot like American Gods but on a much smaller, easier to enjoy scale. I should have the Neverwhere tv series in my mailbox this afternoon...

James Frey: A Million Little Pieces

they already have. people want to know what the big deal is, and now they're gonna want to read the book that pissed Oprah of. And he won't be bussing tables. The only book that sold more copies than his last year was the new Harry Potter.
