Rate the new Potter book here

I dont think her darkness of mood was just because of Remus so I'd calm down on the "girl power." Although seemingly unrequited love can of course cause a reasonable amount of internal strife for people. Also, that imagery simply showed that she accepted him for what he is. He himself seems...

    Happy Halloween

Slightly pedantic but quite correct. Interesting to note that you consider yourself to be anti-Catholic though Stewart. I hate the fireworks as well. Neds seem to start letting them off earlier and earlier, leading up to an ear splitting crescendo on the 5th.

Perhaps you could have a festival in celebration of the assassination of Malcom X or someone, it amounts to the same thing.

    Happy Halloween

It's known as Guy Faulkes Night in the UK. It's basically an anti-catholic festival in which people in the UK have fireworks and bonfires to celebrate a man being executed on a bonfire a few hundred years ago. He tried to blow up the houses of parliament because catholicism was outlawed and...

    Poll: Recently Purchased

Have done. I've voted for delete on all of these threads. I promise that I will never ever open any thread which already has so many responses, many of which are no less inane than "I have recently bought x."

    DVD regions and legality

It's very easy and perfectly legal to get into the factory settings on just about any DVD player on the market nowadays and change it to include all regions. I recently did this with mine, a £30 DVD player from Tesco, so that I could watch some American Region 1 DVDs I had bought from amazon...

    Trolls

aye, but doing that can affect others and people can just use proxies anyway. or so I'm told. I've never had to do anything like that and would have no idea how to but I've heard on other forums about people using proxy IPs or masked IPs.

    Trolls

Trolls can sometimes be a laugh and i think we sometimes run the risk of being a bit precious when it comes to these forums. Some trolls are just arseholes though and it doesnt take long to suss them. Some of them are astoundingly thick too. This is often entertaining though as their attempted...

Reading a book called Windswept House by Malachi Martin just now

Pretty enjoyable so far, plenty happening early on. Writing style is quite rigid and thats perhaps understandable considering the author is a priest and has writtn numerous non fiction works as well as his novels. Anyone else read this?
