I'm struggling through Prisoner of Ironsea Tower by Sarah Ash, hoping it gets more exciting as so far it's been pretty dull :confused:

Must be honest I'm struggling with this book. I had wondered were the story could go after the end of the 1st book. It seemed so concluded. The political theme just isnt as interesting for me and that seems to be were the 2nd book has fallen :confused:

My copy has this cover :D I think it's quite classy.

That's why I try and get first books for series I've not tried before from my library :D Saves me money if I dont like it and also I dont bother buying anymore in that series.

I've read two books from the Keys to the Kingdom series, which I thought were both entertaining and very colourful :D I've also read two books from the Old Kingdom series and unfortunately though it had some interesting ideas, didnt find it as well written.

Anyone read her Wizard Crystal series?

Anyone got to read the 2nd book yet? I'm going to start it this weekend and see how it progressed after the 1st book. :D

Any other fans of this authors works? I would call most of what she's written so far would be called dark fantasy. She seems to be very good at writing interesting characters :D

When i first started reading fantasy I got a book by this author, I think from this series. But it wasnt the first one and I just couldnt get into it. Of course you learn from these disasters and research what order series go in. But I've not had chance to get back to this authors books to...

I personally think it's time for Goodkind to move onto something else. Surely this series isnt the only thing he is cable of writing.

There are a lot more authors out there than the ones mentioned in the article. I think newer fantasy writers are fresher and dont seem to write such long series. Also you can easily find good epic authors such as Robin Hobb, Sarah Zettle, Sarah Ash and a few more that dont write like the...
