Recently finished "Eye of the Beholder" - Brian Lysaght.
Away to read "the Dogs of Riga" - Henning Mankell next. Will definitely have to get round to reading "In Cold Blood" -Truman Capote after that. I've been dying to read it for ages and keep forgetting.
Hey Idun,I tend to ramble on a bit when explaining things, so I'll quote straight from the books cover, if that's allowed!:)
Half French, half Jewish, pretty young singer/pianist Fania Fenelon was arrested for Resistance work and sent to the infamous women's camp of Birkenau - part of the...
I pretty much stick to fiction but I do like WW2 books. My last read was "The Musicians of Auschwitz" by Fania Fenelon. I also like books on Spiritualism.
I've recently finished:
James Herbert - 48
Eddy Brimson - God save the team, fighting for survival at Euro 2000.
Stephen King - From a Buick 8
Jane Green - Spellbound.
Just away to start the second of my Christmas books - Carol Smith - Home From Home.
I've just started 'Indictment, Trial by Fire' by T.C.Campbell. I don't think it's a well known book as it is about the 'Ice-Cream Wars' in Glasgow. The author wrote his story whilst in prison. It's a bit of an eye-opener to say the least.
Hi Cory :)
Had to go and dig out the Coben books I've got...it's been a while! I have Tell No One, Gone For Good and Darkest Fear. I probably would have read some more but a couple of other authors caught my eye.
:D
I started 'Kiss the Girls' by James Patterson on Sunday afternoon. Finished it Monday. Fab book!!
Think I'm away to read 'In Cold Blood' by Truman Capote. I noticed someone mentioned it on the forum earlier. I've had it for a few years but never got round to reading it.
Hi David
I think the first Wallander novel is Faceless Killers. There are nine novels in the Wallander series altogether. The books haven't been published over here in the correct order though. I think the latest one to be published is The Dogs of Riga which is actually the second book of the...
I've just finished 'One Step Behind' by Henning Mankell. It's the first of his books I've read and I couldn't read it fast enough! Seemingly he has won awards for some of his Crime books. A very enjoyable read!
I have a copy of a book called "Aunt Armstrong's money". It has a handwritten date inside of1902. I don't think it is of much value, but I wouldn't part with it anyway.
I forgot all about Butterfly. It's one of my fave books, too! I read another one of hers, I think it was called Stars. Not quite as good though, I thought.
The fight scene between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris sticks in my mind. I've forgotten the film name even though I have a copy of it!
Also, I love the Blade films, with the lovely Wesley Snipes.
another newbies list, off the top of my head
The Bourne Identity- Robert Ludlum
King Rat- James Clavell
The Doctor and The Damned- Albert Haas
Watchers- Dean Koontz
Queenie- Michael Korda
