In the book I have it's on page 303:
...she (Jill) had explained homosexuality, after Mike had read about it and failed to grok- and had given him rules for avoiding such passes; she knew that Mike, pretty as he was, would attract such...Jill suspected that Mike would grok a "wrongness" in the...
i just finished this book. i really enjoyed the first portion of the novel- until it got heavily into religion. i did find aspects of Mike's "church" enlightening, and open love and property sound good in theory. i am confused about Mike's opinion of homosexuality. Mike grok's wrongness with gay...
that is true in my house, too. my husband is ALWAYS late so i always tell him fake times in an effort to be punctual. when he tells me he'll be somewhere in one hour, i ask him if that's real time or matt-time?
another man/woman difference is being sick. when men are sick, they're all but...
i work in a male dominated industry. i think the only reason that men are more successful in my field is that there are so many of them in it, and they're all "old school". they don't want to deal with you if you don't golf, and don't even bother talking to them about something they don't know-...
speaking of snow...
warning, some may find this offensive and others, like me, almost died laughing:

my sister's husband is a construction worker. he's extremely muscular and used to compete in underground fights for money. he has said to me before that he is 49% gay. it was a joke (obviously) but he said it when we were talking about how he loves to decorate the house, and he feels he can talk...
no, i don't see why it does. it's the way people think, not what they think about. i liken women's love of fashion to men's love of cars. besides, i'm not saying ALL women or men are any certain way, or one person is entirely one way. i have some elements that i feel are feminine ways of...
yeah, my hubby listens once in awhile. he's told me about it and has told me to listen but i haven't had the chance. i think thats where he first heard of john titor
the fact that this thread is here is an indication that we all feel there are some inherant differences in the way that men and women think. i don't see what the problem is with the idea. it isn't to say every single man and woman think a certain way, it's just a generalization that i feel...
i've been waiting for this show to air since i heard it advertised. i'll be recording it since i'll be at the gym when it's on, but i will definitely watch it. i'm very interested in all things spacey- especially ufo's
totally agree with you here, bobby. cgi characters are terrible- although the characters in the Final Fantasy movie were quite well done. matrix was a joke, the harry potter movies are laughable, the list goes on. OMG - i LOVE clash of the titans! i've seen that a million times, it was my...
i agree that men are easier to get along with, but i think a close female relationship is more rewarding emotionally. this is just what i have found from experience. i personally feel that i think like a man, but i wish i thought more like a woman sometimes.
i loved the book 2001: a space odyssey, but i slept through the movie. i probably would have loved it if i had seen it 20 years ago, but having watched modern (tech advanced) movies, i had no appreciation. sucks but it's true.
OMG that's hilarious!
i actually don't mean to disparage my career- it's just that i am surprised that this is where i am. who ever thinks of selling newsprint? i'm clearly in it for the money (i don't make a LOT, but i make more than i should) and it's allowed me to travel places i've never...
we say "mint" here, too.
here's a couple off the top of my head:
stoked (ie. i'm so stoked!) = i'm happy or excited
shut your cakehole = shut your mouth
chickenhead = stupid and ditzy girl
