I've just finished book 9 of the Anita Blake series, very much enjoy that series :D Do post your thoughts on Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. I'm in two minds if to get this book and dont know enough about it to make a decision yet :)

I've not read this book so unable to comment. However, I am looking forward to hearing what others think :D

I think The War of the Flowers was one of this best recent books and of course it's a stand alone too :D

I tried reading The Great Game and was left feeling disappointed :confused:

None of my friends, family or work associates read fantasy. And they do give me a strange look when I say I do :rolleyes: I love fantasy, but I do believe sometimes a series can go on to long. But that doesnt include series like The Dresden Files which is basically a new story each book...

I've read the first book in this series and loved it. Still not got around to buying the others in the series. But considering I have over 80 books that I want to buy of authors/series I am following that isnt really a surprise :D I am reading King Rat by China Mieville and so far it's...

It's a dark fantasy novel, good mean characters and interesting magic :)

I read as much fantasy as I can :D I have a small on line fantasy book club too which is quite active. I do find it quiet here at times though :confused: Which is a shame. There doesnt seem to be many readers that visit this forum that read less known authors or at least less mentioned...

I've read the first book in this series Lord of Snow and Shadows. I think I may have posted a review in the Library section on this site :) I quite enjoyed the first book and (when I can afford it) will be buying the 2nd book in the series :D

I tend to find that most of the books I want info on aren't in the library listing :confused: So unless I get my hands on them and post reviews myself they arent there. It's a shame really, because reviews are a good way for readers to make choices on the kinds of books they may like. Not...

The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan is this months book discussion :D So what did everyone think of it? Was the plot exciting enough? What did you think of the characters? What did you hate about it? Any comments at all :)

I must agree that Williams normally writes long drawn out books but War of the Flowers was a much better book (I think) that his normal works :)
