Ok, I know that I'm posting a reply to myself. The author of this series is Emily Drake. The series is called The Magickers. So far, there are 4 books in the series. :D

Books you'd never let your kids read....

I would like to point out that "trash" is in the eye of the beholder. :) That is why there are so many different types of books and authors.

Books you'd never let your kids read....

IMO, if the children are old enough to pick up the book and think "Hey, this sounds interesting," then I believe that they are old enough to read it. Plus, I do not believe, in the slightest, that reading a book can cause emotional and psychological disturbances. Books, even history books...

Usernames!!!! How did you get yours?

For a long time all I used was my first initial and last name. I simply couldn't think of anything else. The I started using Northwest-Wanderer, because I am a fulltime RVer in the Pacific Northwest of the US. Finally, I am trying rvgeek because I am one. :D

    Buy books?

I get mine from a variety of places. I am a fulltime RVer and at most of the campgrounds there is a book exchange for the members. I get most of my books there. That's also where I donate books. I also get books from Fred Meyer's (grocery store) and Costco (warehouse store). Then there are the...

    Books you didn't finish

I tried, unsuccessfully, to read "Rebecca" for almost 10 years. I just couldn't get into the first chapter at all. Then one day it just clicked and I had no problem reading the book. In fact, I reread it every 2-3 years.

Booknotes is good! I don't watch it very often, but every time that I have watched it I found new books that I wanted to read.

Children's Books you still love to read today.

Eight Cousins - Louisa May Alcott - I read this as a young girl (I'm 48 now) and prefer this book to any of the Little Women books. A Wrinkle In Time - Madeline L'Engle Steel Magic - Andre Norton - I actually started reading the Witch World series in 4th grade, then went to the YA &...

    YA Magik Series

I am trying to find the series about a group of kids who meet at summer camp. This camp teaches the kids how to use the gifts that they have. One of the kids doesn't seem to have any gifts and he has his mind wiped of the time he spent in camp. The main boy, in the first book, is living with...

    Hello from SE Washington, USA

I am a 48 year old full-time RVer. I live with my husband and 2 cats in a Class C Motor Home. We are currently on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington State, USA. I am a prolific reader, and will read almost anything. If I don't have a book in my hand, or on my computer, I will even read...

    J. K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

I am 48, my husband is 46, my Mom is 67. We all love the HP books. :D The fact that some enterprising person saw a way to sell more books by starting a Children's Bestseller list doesn't mean that these are children's books. My personal opinion is that if you have not read the books, you...
