Saddest/Most Depressing Novel You've Ever Read

The Road is a pretty sad book. Native Son by Richard Wright was also a tough one to get through for me. It was a great book, but some parts made me cringe.

    Cormac McCarthy: The Road

I'm only half way through the book now, and like others before me, I think the extensive vocabulary is a bit much. However, I do like the style of the book and am very intrigued as to where it is headed.

    what entices you to purchase?

For some odd reaosn, I hate renting books from the library. I just hate the fact of having a time-table for reading. If I don't like the book, then I can put it away and maybe pick it up later and attempt to finish it. I also like having a filled bookshelf.:D

    Writing tips from Kurt Vonnegut

It would guess that this quote goes hand in hand with music. You've got to believe in what you're doing, but only will you ultimatley become a great writer when you gain that respect for other works. Great quote.

    Are you a re-reader?

I've never re-read a book before. I attempted to once, but got so bored. Reading a novel once is enough for me. Although, few books have made me think about it.

    Hello all

Hey there. I'm a senior high school student who has recently had a love for reading explode. I will be attending the University of Kansas in the fall and am looking so forward to that. I also enjoy music and writing. In time, I hope to find great authors, and meet some cool people.
