The one Loki ate was a library book. :( I have a lot of problems with the library over my animals. Are they making a movie or one of those miniseries things based on The Talisman?

    Stephen King

I know. It's not one I reccomend to most people. I also forgot to mention that The Talisman is one of my favorites too. I never finished Black House because my dog is evil and he ate the last few pages. Seriously.

    Stephen King

It's different and a very interesting concept. I have a soft spot for zombies. :D

    Recommend a very good (semi-)obscure fantasy/sf book

Yup, exactly. I check Melanie's website quite frequently, but there's never any news about it. It's quite dissapointing. :(

Let's just say it's not a very interesting place to live.

    Greetings!

I loved the Ender's Shadow books a lot. But, I read the second book in the Ender's Game series and I got so mad I didn't want to read the rest of them.

    Chuck Palahniuk

Sam Rockwell is playing Victor and Angelica Huston plays his mother. It looks like it's going to be pretty great. Read more about it on imdb.com. Just do a title search for Choke (2008). Apparently I can't post links, so that will have to do.

    Brian Jacques

I've read every book in the Redwall series except for the two newest ones at least twice. I still read them when they come out, but my library hasn't gotten the newest ones yet. It was definitely one of my favorite series when I was younger and they never failed to make me cry.

    Recommend a very good (semi-)obscure fantasy/sf book

I haven't really been around the boards yet, so I may get a virtual smack for this. But, no one I know has read or heard of Exiles by Melanie Rawn. It's supposed to be a trilogy, but Rawn took a break after the second book to write other other things and hasn't gotten back to it yet. Sigh...

    Chuck Palahniuk

Chuck P. is definitely my favorite author of all time. And Invisible Monsters is possibly my favorite book (see avatar). I love every book I've read by him so far. Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, Haunted, Choke, Lullaby, and Rant. I can't get ahold of Survivor or Diary and it's driving me mad...

    Anne Rice

I love The Vampire Chronicles. Up until Blackwood Farm. I cannot seem to finish it no matter how many times I try. However, Anne Rice is one of my favorite authors. I hadn't heard anything at all about this turn in her career though. I do no think I'll be reading her new books.

    Stephen King

I love The Dark Tower series. They're fantastic as a whole, but it's true that the last few books dragged a little. I'd been a fan of King for years, and I'd always seen The Gunslinger on the shelves, but didn't really think a fantasy western was my cup of tea. I was wrong. :D Since...

Should I get "The Golden Compass"?

Definitely read them. The His Dark Materilas triology is possibly my favorite series of all time. They're simply amazing.

Poll: How old is the average reader on this Forum?

I'm 20. I can't remember a time when I didn't know how to read. I was the only kid I know to get in trouble for reading too much in elementary school. I was always at the top of my class in the Accelerated Reader program (you read books and then take tests on them online for points). When I got...

    Greetings!

Well, I've read so many...yikes...umm have you read Harry Potter? I also reccomend the His Dark Materials triology by Philip Pullman. Aslo, right now I'm dying to read the rest of the A Song of Ice and Fire Trilogy by George R.R. Martin. I read the first one, A Game of Thrones, a few years ago...

    Greetings!

Earthlings. :D Ahem...couldn't resist. Anywho, I'm Gina. But, everyone usually just calls me Ender. Yes, from Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Next to helping animals, reading is one of greatest passions. I'm the only kid I know to ever get in trouble for reading too much in elementary...
