Hi,
I know there's nothing else like Gormenghast, but I'm wondering what books other Peake fans enjoy and would classify as at least slightly similar or on a par with Gormenghast.
I'm looking for something with at least some of the following:
- A fantastic or surreal element
- A gothic...
I like Librarything and similar sites a lot. I can only afford to buy one or two books a month at best, so most of my reading comes from the library, and it's a nice way to organise all the books I've read, but don't own.
I'm not about to pay a site just to get to list my books there though...
The best place for me is probably curled up on the couch at home with a blanket and tea.
But I read almost anywhere - one of the best things about reading for me is the way you can disappear into a book and forget about time and place completely. I also like to carry the book I'm reading...
