I re-read...
I but every book I decide to read- and I never use the library, just good old Barnes & Noble- so I have a huge library at my house. I found, however, that I read much faster than the time it takes for my wallet to fill up again. So, to pass the time, I usually find myself...
Protecting the King...
*Clears his throat* Hey! Jay!! Are you ready? I am a writer, I have a kick ass writing mentor, I am a reader, and I read all the time, I read all diffeent kinds of things- I know a good writer, when I see one.
Also, you don't need to be an amazing writer to give...
i disagree.
horrors, in their definition, are scary. thrillers don't neccesarily need to be scary- they just keep you reading all the time.
Although, i think it's unusual that "thriller" is a genre, because it's really not. it's just a tag you put on some books. For example, Michael...
mille!!!!! millie!!! i love you!!!! not literally, but i cant thank you enough! ive had the same problem, and youve CHANGED MY LIFE! or rather, the person you were quoting changed my life, but nonetheless youplayed a part :D :p :) ;)    so many emotions!!!!!!!
hete is such a strong word... as im sure someone in there right mind has said already... so i dont really hate any authors, nor do i dislike any to the extreme of twisting their head to point that suggests i might not like their books- but i do dislike some plots. for example... wait... awww who...
i definitely enjoyed garth nix's "sabriel, lirael, abhorsen trilogy" as well as his seventh tower, and keys of the kingdom books. also, ta barron, SL farrel (cept thats a bit more of an adult fantasy...)
wow! i never knew my first thread would be this succesful. not only has it had some great answers, but its given some book ideas- though i now ask that next to the character you include the book title too, that way people may want to pursue why you like this character so much! thank you!
ive read them both, and i have to say the whole symbology thing is awesome! and with all that information i feel as though i could write a good long fantasy book about the knights of templar! as for angels and demons, it was excellent except for the fact that it had some pornagraphic scenes that...
i can understand belgarion is a ridiculous name, but richard and khalan aren;t! and the orb isn't in any way cliched!!!! besides though this classic plot outline may be used, the way that it is presented is original in its own way. not to mention the fact that there is in no way anything...
well, for me its like the information is locked up in a safe, and all you have to do is mention the title, author, or main plot line and ill remember everything that happened, this helps in reading multiple books, because no matter how many books im reading i can pick up one of them, read the...
o, wheel of time! yeah, i started to read that, but personally i found it got a bit boring at dragon reborn... but that was a while ago so i might pick it up again and see what i think, but i loved the first one!
i just recently finished the eighth book of the soT series, "naked empire" and it was amazing! i cant wait for chainfire to come! it was very good and was focused on the wizard's rule: deserve victory, with very well developed characters and a partly predictable yet still surprising type of a plot.
kewl, what does WoT stand for?
anywho, heres my answer:
i would be belgarath the sorcerer and live in the world of the sword of truth novels. if i could id have the attributes of patience and wisdom and intelligence that Richard Rahl has, not to say im short on intelligence! id probably...
shprt of homers work, i havent read anything on that list- but ive heard of the art of war a couple times... can someone elaborate on what thats about- cuz it sounds cool... but thats just the title :D
i cant go by a day without reccomending terry goodkind, but in case thats not up your alley, i reccomend the very easy, yet good piece of literature, "fire bringer" by clement-davis. some other good books would be "aztec" but thats definitely not short... so i guess the master and commander...
id say real good old books for a cuople of reasons: first of all, the plasma screen thingy of my laptop cant be good on my eyes. second of all, the whole scrolling down thing screws up the feel of the book for some odd reason, and when you have a book, you get a real sense of accomplishment as...
