I just finished reading Rats by Robert Sullivan. I thought I'd read it so when I spot the occasional rat, I won't think it is so creepy. Nope. Rats are creepy. The book was fascinating though, and it made me think a little about my own ratness. :)
You may want to check out some of Gore Vidal's books. I'm currently reading Creation which is about the ancient world. Most of his historical fiction is about America though. Burr and Lincoln are a couple of examples.
I enjoyed this book much more than I expected. I was hooked by the first line. I found myself laughing at Ben Cortman. Just an ordinary guy except for that one thing. It was his character that kept reminding me though, that at one time they were really all just ordinary people.
I just finished Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. It's about the madwoman in the attic in Jane Eyre, and it gives a perspective that I found interesting. I'd recommend it to any of you who enjoyed Jane Eyre.
Some people like The Cat Who... series. I've only read one that was a gift from a friend. I thought it was OK for an afternoon of light reading. I cared more about the cats than the mystery, but that's just me.
I've only read Atlas Shrugged, so I'm no expert. I agree with her on some things, but the book has not inspired me to want to read more. I liked it when she was telling the story, but at other times I felt she was going on and on. I also found myself wondering if Dagny Taggart is such a...
