    I just finished reading...

I just finished reading Rats by Robert Sullivan. I thought I'd read it so when I spot the occasional rat, I won't think it is so creepy. Nope. Rats are creepy. The book was fascinating though, and it made me think a little about my own ratness. :)

    historical fiction recommendations

You may want to check out some of Gore Vidal's books. I'm currently reading Creation which is about the ancient world. Most of his historical fiction is about America though. Burr and Lincoln are a couple of examples.

    Richard Matheson: I Am Legend

I enjoyed this book much more than I expected. I was hooked by the first line. I found myself laughing at Ben Cortman. Just an ordinary guy except for that one thing. It was his character that kept reminding me though, that at one time they were really all just ordinary people.

I just finished Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. It's about the madwoman in the attic in Jane Eyre, and it gives a perspective that I found interesting. I'd recommend it to any of you who enjoyed Jane Eyre.

    Greetings from the Windy City

I sat here for 10 minutes trying to come up with an original title for this post. I failed. Not only that. I lied. I'm not really in the city, but in the suburbs. Hi! I'm Michelle. I've recently rediscovered my love of reading fiction. My current goal is to get through the Modern...
