Hey I think I read that too... I'm not sure I understood what was going on when I read it... was there like a sound proof room involved in their home and possably a final confrontation in a lighthouse or something like that?
I'm new here so hi all! Here goes...I read a book years ago and can't remember the author/title... story line is as follows
An alien crash lands in the water close to a mans private island. She convinces him to help her return home and help her people. She trains him in her peoples science...
OK No way can I make a top 5 too many books too few slots, but I just wanted to say that if you like HG wells THE TIME MACHINE, Steven Baxter wrote a book 2 called THE TIME SHIPS... pretty awesome and a lot longer than the original...Baxter is a Hard SCIFI guy.

I was also a really big piers Anthony fan as a lad... Hooked big time on the Xanth Series... I guess that series and the Adept series by him are very childish though puns and puns and puns.

Prelude to foundation was the last foundation book asimov wrote... I'm pretty sure it was published before he died... around the same time as the book Nemisis another one of his final works. Prelude is a lot less dated than the older foundation books he wrote I think but the whole series...
