    Lost

the finale was such a disappointment. I"m never watching this show ever again. Imagination my ass. The premise is really good, but the writers aren't delivering the goods, imo. I honestly think they don't know how to answer the mysteries they've created.

    Jeffrey Eugenides: Middlesex

My book club is discussing it next month! :-) I'm halfway through it right now and should be done with it by the end of this week. Confession: I'm a tad impatient, so I've already skimmed ahead.

    Jeffrey Eugenides: Middlesex

I am loving this book right now! I love Desdemona, she is hilarious. I can just imagine a grey-haired, wrinkly old woman screaming, Mana!

    medicate or not to medicate

I wait until it's really bad or if i can't get sick (like if i have an upcoming trip) before getting medication.

Ladies and Opening Doors for Them

I like guys to open doors for me, to offer to give up their seat for me when the train/bus is full, to hold the chair out for me. I like chivalry. BUT if I'm more than a couple of steps away, don't wait for me to get to the door to keep the door open for me. As nice as the gesture is, I don't...

    Work

That is sooo true. I gripe all the time about not having anything to do, but I also get irritable when they give me something to do.

    Work

You work at home, right, Eliott? So when you're bored, you can do whatever you want to amuse yourself, like watch tv, go out, read, whatever. I don't have that luxury, however. When I'm bored, which is all the time, all I have to distract myself is my email (and they're restricted my use of...

    Work

Who else spends the majority of their time at work doing absolutely nothing (or farting around online)? Anyone, anyone? Man, I have GOT to get out of here!

    Pizza - 'nuff said

ooooh, that sounds good! i cheat too. i don't make the crust from scratch or anything. i buy one of those frozen crusts, top it with pizza sauce, green peppers, onions, and lots of cheese, and pop it in the oven for ten minutes. i might try making my own crust if it doesn't take too long...

    Small Talk

I'm not much of a big talker either. I've noticed that there are certain types of people that can make me open up more easily and that I can talk to more. When I'm with these people, I just don't shut up.

    Pizza - 'nuff said

Papa Johns - pepperoni, mushroom and green peppers. But I usually make my own now.

    Small Talk

AH, I am too! Horrible at small talk, that is. I hate hate hate small talk, especially early in the morning, and I used to get on the rail with this man every morning who loved to chit chat. It was awful having to force myself to sound interested and to follow the conversation. It got to the...

    what's everyone up to today?

Sitting at work, bored out of my mind, wondering where my friends are and why they are not emailing me!

    Has your style changed?

Oh yeah definitely. From fairy tales to Nancy Drew to Sweet Valley High/Twins and Babysitter's Club and Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine to romance to chick lit to hmmm I guess more serious literature now. I've also gone through long periods not reading a single book.

    Leo Tolstoy: Anna Karenina

    Fini! Great, great, great book!

    Jhumpa Lahiri: The Namesake

Thanks, Halo, that helps a lot! I remember that part. I guess by writing it the way she did, it made the whole thing less important or at least not a major point of the book, but if I remember correctly - I read this book last year so my memory of it is a bit fuzzy - Lahiri not mentioning it...

    Leo Tolstoy: Anna Karenina

i don't know if he feels sympathy but the emotions that he's attributing to Anna are certainly real and believable. i understand where she's coming from, i think we've all been there -maybe not the suicidal thoughts, but being irrational, knowing full well that you're being irrational and...
