I haven't touched Tara Road yet.
I am reading quentins at the mo.
I must admit I didn't know who this writer was and find it's very good!

Cheers

An the characters so different yet so much the same
Hi,
I have just read the latest book from Maeve Binchy and found it quite impressive. I really like her style so would like to find out what other people think.
Thanks,
London
Hi,
Yes it did and that was the reason why me and three other friends decided to have a 'book club' meeting about the book. All of us read it and when we meet we all thought it was very disappointing.
Guess you can say all of us have different feelings about the same thing, but that's how I...
Well, I have read many magazines and have heard many people saying Brick lane was a racist book -against muslims, against people from Bangladesh/asia in general etc- and did not find all this hate.

Hi,
I just finished reading Brick Lane, Monica Ali, and would like to talk about it as I have read several comments related to the book last year (when it was a 'must not read' within all my friends and this is one of the reasons why I had not touched until now) but...I don't...

However...why doi you think it can be racist? Up to what I read I think it is not racist. It is, simply...honest. Chanu is...
I think a good plot can make a huge difference but, as somebody else already mentioned, good writing is fundamental.
Ideally, you should find a balance. FIrst example I can think of is 100 Years of Solitude, GG Marquez.
Am not much into Dan Brown, I read the book and found it quite...
Thank you all for your replies!
To tell you the truth I had problems with google as too many things come up and I kinda get lost!
I was mainly focusin on novels that take place or touch cities as the above mentioned ones.
TA!!
Dear all,
I am looking for books (novels in particular) that take place in the following cities:
London (UK)
Munich (Germany)
Paris (France)
New York (USA)
Tibet
For example The Da Vinci Code in Paris.
I am not fussy about authors (man, woman, any race and colour) or centuries...
