I really enjoyed this book. Some of it was predictable of course, but it was an easy read and a good yarn, and provoked some good discussion at the Bookworms reading group I'm a member of - in fact, it scored the best score of all the books we've read so far (which admittedly isn't that many as...
I loved the 'Magic Woodland series' series by Beverly Nichols - sadly they are out of print now, but I still have my original copies - the only books from my childhood that I kept.
I also loved Enid Blyton, especially the Mallory Towers and St Clares series, not to mention 'The Land of Far...
Have you considered ordering from Amazon.co.uk?
It says they dispatch to the USA, by airmail within 5-7 working days. I know my account info works on Amazon.com, so perhaps yours (if you have an existing account) will work on the co.uk website?
More delivery info can be found here.

I've read all the Sophie Kinsella books. I think Undomestic Goddess was my favourite.
I've only read one Madeleine Wickham - Swimming Pool Sunday. It was quite good - I thought it was less 'fluffy' that her Kinsella books.
If you like the Shopaholic books, you might enjoy Save Karyn by...
I really like them. Okay, they're a bit samey, but they're still good fun, and a lovely easy read.
I haven't read Undomestic Goddess yet, as I like to read paperbacks - can't get comfy in bed with a hardback!
I read on IMDB.com ages ago that Can You Keep A Secret? is going to be made into...
It certainly is. The rights to the book were bought by Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. There is a little bit of information in the link below, such as director, scriptwriter, but no actors as yet (although maybe Brad and Jen will want the roles for themselves - can you see them as Henry and...
I love the 'try my luck' element of charity shops too!
I tend to shop in WHS because I like collecting the points and then treating myself to a 'free' book!
I love Ottakars - it smells like a proper bookshop, but I don't often shop in the town where our nearest one is.
I've just finished The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger. I thought it was brilliant, once I'd got my head around the time travel book. I read it in about 3 days, which is good for me. :)
I'm reading Atlantic Shift by Emily Barr
I've read several of her books and find them most enjoyable.
I'm not very far into this one, but I think it will be good. I haven't read the reviews on the Amazon link above - I make it a point to try not to read the views until I've finished the...
I read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle last year, and it was unlike anything I've ever read before. I enjoyed it, but I don't think I truely understood it! It was an odd story, to say the least!
I'm drawn to what I consider to be attractive book covers. I've found some good books as a result. For example, a couple of years ago I picked up The Other Side Of The Dale by Gervace Phinn because the cover looked nice, and I thought the book was excellent.
I wouldn't let a bad cover put...
Although I didn't stop reading, and I wasn't scared in the true sense of the word, the book I found hardest to finish and which really disturbed me was 'A Child Called It' by Dave Pelzer.
The abuse he suffered made me feel quite faint at times, but at the same time I couldn't bear not to...
I've just signed up today, having lurked for two or three days. I like the forum, although some of the threads in General Chat seem a little scary!
I love reading, although compared to some of the members here I may seem a bit shallow! I love lots of chick lit, e.g Sophie Kinsella, Jane...
