    For me, definitely Requiem For A Dream by Hubert Selby Jr. I wish I had not read it. I know I could have stopped any time, but pushed through to the end anyway.

    There is a breeder who lives right around the corner from us! I had always wanted a Sphynx, and when we arrived in Cape Town I headed straight for his cattery and ordered my little naked boy! Number 2 Sphynx belonged to a friend of mine who is moving to Australia and asked me to re-home him...

    John Steinbeck: East Of Eden

    East of Eden is in my top 3 books of all time. I have yet to read Grapes of Wrath, but it is definitely in the pile of books to be read. I would have to say that my second best John Steinbeck book is Cannery Row ~ anyone else enjoy this book? His characters are legend... I prefer this book to Of...

    Susanna Clarke: Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell

    Well BooknaMug, decided to take your advice and have finally finished it. It won't be going onto my 'to be read again' shelf, but I'm glad that I did stick with it. I enjoyed it more the further I got into it, and I enjoyed the style in which it was written.

    Aahhh, thanks for the reminder. I remember reading the book (Nana) around 20 years ago and really loving it. It is definitely on my 'to read again' list ~ if I am lucky enough to find a copy. Anyone else read it?

    Have had it lying around for quite a while, and after having finished reading Love and Louis XIV ~ Antonia Fraser, this a.m., started to read JS&MN this p.m. I am really enjoying it and am off to bed to read for a couple of hours.
