Do you skim or read every word?

I try to read all the words but sometimes descriptions get a little too much and I find myself skimming. It generally means a bad book, though.

Death of a Salesman - Arthur Miller

It's not really a book, but a very famous play. I really liked it when I read it. It is basically a look at the American dream which was very true and potentially interesting.

    Nightwish

I own all the Nightwish CDs. I am very sad that the lead singer is leaving the band, but I was under the impression it was not her choice. Hopefully she will find somewhere else to go and continue entertaining the masses.

    John Steinbeck

I personally enjoyed Of Mice and Men, but I haven't read everything yet.

    Bookshelf organisation

I start out with organization in mind, but after a few days my books normally look like organized chaos. :(

If you were a writer, what genre would you write?

I am not sure, maybe historical fiction or fantasy.

Suggestions: May 2006 Book of the Month

I have read A Complicated Kindness before. It is a half decent read, but not stellar. I will third Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, just because I should have read it by now.

    Books you once found boring...

I know that happens to me, I read a book and can't get through and then try it again later, but I can't think of an exact example right now.

Yes, it is very devastating because my other camera is broken too, the one I have that uses film. I found my old digital camera, though, now to find batteries.

Oh, that was helpful. Maybe I will read Vanishing Acts first and then The Pact. Thanks for the unintentional aid. :)

I plan to. I guess my digital camera is broken, it is rattling inside. :( You guys just have to promise to ignore my bright coloured walls in my "library" and my Care Bear collection... Everyone has their little quirks... lol I will borrow a digital camera from someone in my house...

I wish my book shelves were that nice! All mine are mismatched. It is plan for the summer to remedy that, but who knows if it will happen.

    Bookshelf organisation

I also generally have a list on my computer of the books I own that I have read and the books I own I haven't read, but it is really outdated right now. I will fix it this summer.

What Did You Read in February?

I had a slow month reading-wise, but that was mainly because I picked several novels I did not like or could not get into. Emily of New Moon - L.M. Montgomery Firebirds - Sharyn November Cloud Nine - ah, can't think of the author right now Last Summer at Bluefish Cove - same problem (bad...

    Bookshelf organisation

I organize my books very simply. I divide the books by read and not read and then put them in alphabetical order. It changes from time to time to make things interesting. I have most of my non-fiction seperate too, but mainly because I am in university and some of them are textbooks.

Wally Lamb: I Know This Much Is True

I read this book quite some time ago. I liked it better than "She's Come Undone", but only by a bit. He has another novel, but it is non-fiction. I want to say it is about a female jail? It's been a while since I read the description.

My car is sort of a mess right now, but mainly because it is winter and standing out in the freezing cold does not appeal to me on a regular basis. Normally, though, it is tidy. I only have a little car anyways, so no large scale room for books. Generally if I run out of book space I will...
