Looking for books like Brad Thor's

Last time I asked for books I got some excellent suggestions, including Dennis Lehane, who I now love. Recently I read all of Brad Thor's books and I'm looking for something similar. I'm afraid there may not be anything out there quite like them though. I would describe Brad Thor's books as...

I started a daily blog as a writing exercise

... and it's turned into something that I enjoy writing even more than working on one of my novels. Some of the posts are rough draft, some are edited, some are fully polished. Eventually they will all be polished, but for now, since I invite constructive criticism, I am leaving them "as is"...

    detective or private eyes.

Dennis Lehane's books starring Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro are outstanding. I strongly recommend starting with "A Drink Before the War". If you like that one, you'll enjoy the rest too. Your Personal Library

Wow. Lots of books in this thread. :) I lost count when I passed 2000 books years ago. Most of mine are popular fiction. Suspense, drama, adventure and thrillers make up most of my library. I do have a small amount of science fiction and fantasy, but only the really good stuff.

    Dan Simmons

I have to agree with ifpiper. I've just finished The Terror and for 90% of the book I was on the edge of my seat. What a horrifying and exciting story. I guess 90% of a great book is better than 100% of a bad book. :)
