    I am a Kindle Killer

I bought mine for travel. I can blow up the text big enough for my eyesight so it's worked ok for me. It's a great back-saver.

    How E-Readers Can Save Reading

That would so happen to me...I just know it. I'd hope somehow one of my spare pairs would be spared. Then I'd read up on how to grind eyeglasses!

    How E-Readers Can Save Reading

I like real books better but my Kindle has been a back saver. I just like to read too much to leave town for a week without at least five books (two for reading, three in case I want to read something different). Plus I read at work (shh don't tell anyone!) via Kindle for PC.

Is this the end for books?

I didn't have one for a while myself. Just didn't bother. Who needs one when you have access to pretty much every book in your state via your local library and ILL?

    Regular Kindle or Kindle Fire??

Regular. I don't like back-lighting. It's bad enough I work at a computer all day, I don't need to stare at one when I'm trying to enjoy myself. I still read real books more often and probably always will but the Kindle has been GREAT for travel.

have you guys read an e-book

*shrugs* I tried reading on a friend of boyfriend's ereader this weekend and just wasn't impressed.

How many of you guys use google books?

I use it a lot. That and B&N previews (more detailed than Amazon usually).

    What College Students are Reading

I liked HP but have not been able to get into the whole Twilight thing. I'm more likely to enjoy some Terry Prachett or Terry Goodkind in my spare time. I'm basically a math major so I don't really do a lot of reading for school so reading for fun is still an awful lot of fun.

    Personal Reading Record

Probably somewhere in the range of 50-60. I haven't been tracking that long and only averaging 30-40 these days since I'm a full time student working around 15 hours a week.

have you guys read an e-book

I've read previews before getting the paper versions. That's the closest I've come and am likely to come. I don't really like reading on screens.

Tell me what you read and I'll tell you who you are

Me also. I went to my boyfriend's friend's parents' house and they only had a dictionary. I regretted not bringing my book (which was in our car, which was back at his friend's house) but I had gotten shanghaied into this so there was no way I knew to bring it. Now I'm never without one. Anyway...

When should you throw a book away?

I second on doing something other than throwing them away. Someone will take them, if not, recycle. I'd take them and even pay shipping to get them here but my boyfriend would be extremely unhappy about that...especially since I don't currently have a job....

When should you throw a book away?

When damaged beyond repair I lovingly take them to the recycling center to begin new lives. If not wanted there are several places I can give them to. Shelters sometimes take them, Goodwill and the like will, the library does, used bookstores take them, or I give them away to friends. Even books...

    Sterotyping people that read.

Most everyone I know well at least likes to read, then again I've been picky about the company I keep my entire life and non-readers don't tend to have much in common with me. I deal much better with people who have trouble reading than those who just don't like to read though. I've heard a few...

You know you're addicted to reading when...

That would be sweet...something to do while the boy is looking at tools. Books that aren't about tools would be great (they have ones about tools..).

You know you're addicted to reading when...

I need something with wheels to go to the library, my habits are starting to hurt my back. Then I'd have even more of an excuse for coming home with everything that looked interesting. I agree on the purse too.. My requirement is 'fits a standard paperback'. I hate getting caught anywhere I...

You know you're addicted to reading when...

I have three in there. I'd love a bath side bookshelf but I've already ruined enough poor books with the damp I'm sure.

You know you're addicted to reading when...

I HATED that one but it's all my folks could to a kid who didn't care to play with others and could live without TV.

You know you're addicted to reading when...

Thank goodness you can't do that! At least not here. I would have done so the first year I joined the library here...Yes I'll admit I have a bit of a reading 'problem' and have had such since I learned how, nurtured the first time I was read to nearly 27 years ago, maybe even 27 years ago, I...

What does reading a book mean to you?

Entertainment, even if I'm learning I read to be entertained. That said, I find learning fun. I read to unwind, feel better, have a good laugh or cry, visit other worlds, lead other lives... or even because there is reading material next to me and I prefer books to people...
