2003 Book of the Month Choices

I'm going to suggest "The Bone Collector" by Jeffery Deaver for April's read, unless anyone has any other thoughts?

Something short, easy to read and then discuss. Perhaps something that many of us have already read. Therefore, I propose the following.

Louis Sachar - Holes
John Steinbeck - Of Mice and Men
Paulo Coelho - The Alchemist

Any one approve these? Or have a preference for either?

murphyz, I've read the first two, but what's the last one about? (and don't tell me it's about an alchemist! I know you were thinking it.)

The last one is very critically acclaimed and is about a young shepherd who has a dream about treasure - 'his detiny' - and goes to find it. It's meant to be a 'soul finding' book but I think that was lost on me and, to be honest, I didn't think it was that great.

Thousands of others like it though...
