Anne Rice type authors?

Can anyone suggest some authors who write books similar to Anne Rice. Not the vampire series (which I didn't really like), but the Mayfair Witches series, the Mummy, Violin... that type of novel. This isn't my usually genre, so I don't know what other books to pick up. What do you guys think? Any more witch novels or egyptology novels by other authors?
