anyone know the words to that oldies song? who wrote it? I've heard the song several times, and I've figured the chords, but it's hard for me to understand sung lyrics

Here you go!!

"I'm a Believer" is a song composed by Neil Diamond and recorded by the band The Monkees in 1966 with the lead vocals by Micky Dolenz.
Then Smash Mouth redid the song for the Shrek movie.

I thought love was
Only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else
But not for me
Love was out to get to me
That's the way it seems
Disappointment haunted
All my dreams

And then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her
If I tried

I thought love was
More or less a given thing
The more I gave the less
I got, oh yeah
What's the use in trying
All you get is pain
When I wanted sunshine
I got rain

And then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her
If I tried

What's the use in trying
All you get is pain
When I wanted sunshine
I got rain

And then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her
If I tried

Then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
Now I'm a believer
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm a believer
Then I saw her face
I'm a believer
Not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
I'm a believer

I went to that ultimate guitar website and reistered. I'm helgi there too, and my chords to the song should be appearing in a few days. They have to review chord submissions before they consign them to the data base.

I'm absolutely sure I've got the right chords for the monkees song, but I wanted to see which Creation songs they had listed. They only had one submission of Making Time. I posted a transcription here on the Making Time thread, but my chords for the chorus were incorrect

I just bought a monkees hits today and heard the song "She" for the first time.

does anyone know any other bands that sound like the monkees? Besides the beatles, I've got all their records.

I think the English singer of Air Supply sounds a lot like Davy Jones.

When the Monkess were breaking up Boyce & Heart joined with Davy Jones and Micky Dolenz and they recorded an album.

I've met Micky and Mike. Nice guys.

I'd say Herman's Hermits and The Kinks.

I just got some more monkees music, and it wasn't good like their hits. I guess they didn't write their own songs, monkee see monkee do. But their hits were very good I think
