Armies of ants thick as fur
swarming the baize of a billiard table
opaquely thick tangling legs mandibles
ascending one edge scrabbling forward
tumbling pushed from the further one
seemingly mindless flow of instinct will
not much different than
Hordes populations shin by jowl
millions billions settling conquering
acres square miles nations continents
fighting killing murdering pillaging
claiming raping grabbing destroying
forest savannah fields plains vistas
not much different than
Night time daily chirping bellowing
crickets tree frogs buffalos monkeys
media deploring commenting yakking yammering
trees fallen flowers trampled animals killed
toxic air chemical rain species extincted
endless progression tomorrow worse
not much different than
Visions hopes thoughts memories
clearly seen nurtured held
fading perishing overcome forgotten
each day's dawn courier of new necessity
rejoin the throng follow the flow
an army of ants til the end of time.
