After coming on here plus googling as well, looking for a scary read, it seemed to me that Rebecca by Daphne du maurier was universally regarded as the scariest, creepiest book about.
I've just finished reading it and am left wanting. Don't get me wrong, it was well written and had me hooked like any good book should, but scary??? Not in the slightest.
Anyway, rant over.
