im new so i dont know if theres guidelines to these books or not- but here goes nothing!

something by eddings or goodkind would be nice.

garthj nix's "Sabriel" would be good

also, Clement davis "fire bringer" or "the sight"

Jonathan Straud's "Amulet of Smarkand" (it incorporated the element of footnotes which i loved for it's "out of the boxiness")

S.L. Farrell's "holder of lightning"

and finally, Isabel Allende's "City of the Beasts"
