Brian Greene: The Elegant Universe

There is an open anthology contest online (I forget the URL -- but I can get later) where the dimential concepts of Greene's books will come in handy. I have only read the book discusses in this thread, but I will read his previous and current books for further insights.

The due date for entries is this June so I can take my sweet time.

By the way, The Elegent Universe is a very good book -- very interesting!
 
OK, so...

I thought he was saying that the Universe (in the three dimensions we can see) is either 15 billion lightyears across or the the exact inverse of that going from the Planck length - ie Planck length to the power of negative 61, AKA really really really really no really absolutely really really tiny.

Turns out he's actually saying that assuming yada yada, it's both.

Aye. Same here.

One of the parts that I couldn't get my head around was his definition of dimensions and how there are multiple dimensions "wadded up" along a one (or was it two?)-dimensional string.
