Just got the following books from df:

Pattern Recognition by William Gibson
On Equilibrium by John Ralston Saul
The Path Between the Seas by David McCullough

also the CD - "On and On" - Jack Johnson

AND a gift certificate to a favourite bookstore.

I'm happy :) ;)

Belated Happy Birthday Ell !!!
I'd sing it to you but I'd get kicked off the forum.
Hope you enjoyed Your day!

You might get kicked off the forum, Bill, I'd get kicked off the earth for singing. William Hung sounds like an opera star next to me.

Happy Birthday, Ell! Sounds like it was a good one!

Thank-you for your kind wishes. Yes, I had a lovely day - didn't have to cook dinner or anything! ;)

Hey, . . . I wouldn't mind the singing, . . . honestly.

And I think William Hung is adorable. :D

My best wishes to you, also, Ell.
I would be curious to know why The Path Between the Seas was one of your gifts. I think McCullough is a wonderful writer, I just didn't suppose there was a lot of interest in the topic. If you enjoy it, I urge you to get his other books. I was particularly impressed with The Great Bridge.

Thanks, funes.

I plan to go on a Panama Canal cruise (full-transit) this fall. Since I always like to know about the places I travel to, I put this book was on my wish list. Mind you, it was on my Christmas wish list - but better late than never! :)
