Can't remeber title- help!

I am trying to find the name of this book we read in school about 30 years ago. it is about a young boy who becomes friends with a giant that farts alot. I do not remeber much more, but I think my boys would love this book...

Are you sure it was a young boy, not a girl called Sophie? If so I think you want "The BFG" by Roald Dahl.

Boys love farts...

I'll never understand what it is about farts that seems to entertain boys so much. Having two (now grown) boys of my own, I can certainly attest to their fascination with them. I hope someone thinks of the name of the book. There's also a great little book called (I think) "Everybody Poops."
