i am trying to find out the title / author of a book that i read a review on once the plot was about a common girl who married above her and it starts with the couple in a carriage with the girl asleep leaning on her husbandand when they get to the house she wakes up embarrassed that she was leaning on him, when they get out of the carriage she feels as though the house has been waiting for her.
i had thought it was a christine feehan book but i cant find it.
Can anyone help please?
thanks

I think you're thinking of a book by Mary Higgins Clark called A Cry in the Night. Its not set in the 1800's but when reading it it sort of feels like it should be and the girl in this book actually falls asleep in a car, not a carriage. I'm not sure if this the book you're referring to and if it's not I still recommend it, it's a great book!
