I have been trying to think I about I read a number years ago. My father was a producer and had optioned this book trying to adapt into a film. What I can remember about it was there was this giant Japanese WW2 soldier in the jungle that had gone mad and was not aware the war was over and he was killing anyone he encountered. Villagers would think of him as phanton.. the hero of the book was an american that was visiting asia due to death in his family.. can not remember the author or title of this novel. I am sure it is out of print and probably somewhat obscure.. Can anyone help me here.. Thanks
