I haven't read anything by Catherine Cookson for years now. I find them a bit light for my current taste.
However, I do have fond memories of reading The Mallen Trilogy (I think they were called 'The Mallen Girl', 'The Mallen Streak' and 'The Mallen Litter'. I've no idea which order they should be read in, but they do need to be read in the right order.
