Crushes on fictional characters

Have you ever had a crush on a character from a novel or story?

When I was twelve, I had a crush on Huckleberry Finn. People think he's naughty and a bad influence; but really he's so innocent and misunderstood. He needed me by his side.

Anyway, how about your crushes?

Actually mine is Philip Pullman too...Will Parry from His Dark Materials, I dunno I just always liked him a great deal - plus the guy who played him in the National Theatre production was nothing to complain about either :p

It's not a crush! It's true love. ;)

Mine are Arutha con Doin from The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E Feist and Simon Wargallow from The Omaran Saga by Adrian Cole. There may well have been others over the years but these are the two I remember.

I have a theory about this and it might be interesting to see if it's borne out here. I think it's more a girl thing to get crushes on characters in books. I think girls are much more character driven so can develop crushes on these characters, whereas guys need more visual stimulation. Hence the crushes on Jessica Rabbit!

Edit: Thought of another one: Lestat!

Never from a book. Cartoon girls though. Amy Wong from Futurama and there was a character in a animated Batman series. She was an assistant of the Joker's. Unless pornography counts as fiction? ;)

I agree. But I'd rather get an STD from a cartoon than a porn star; a cartoon STD can be erased easily.

Jamie from the Outlander series. I felt like I was cheating on my husband, I was so smitten

Perhaps it is a measure of the state of my life outside of books, but I will gladly confess, as a man, that i have been smitten with several female characters.
Lena from Joseph Conrad's novel Victory - a waif lost in the South Seas with long, dark hair who traipses around Axel's private island in nothing but a sarong. Ooof.
Several of the women in John Crowley's Little, Big. There's just something about beautiful women living in rambling, old, mossy mansions.
I'm sure there are more.

Yeah, yeah. Her name is Harley Quinn. Poison Ivy wasn't bad, either, and a red head. Though, of the Futurama gang, I'd vote for the other girl, even if she is a cyclops.

I totally agree with the person who said Jamie Fraser! I was only in 8th grade when I read the Outlander series. I think I learned more than I was supposed to about love and life, but he has always stuck with me, and still remains a standard by which I judge the men in my life. He certainly was a Man with a capital M.
Cheers

Want a list? :p

I tend to just be rather attracted to a particular fictitious character than have a crush on them... Faramir is one that comes to mind, though I tend not to go on about that because I didn't really like him in the film. When I read Animorphs (which was sadly not all that long ago, as I read them at the same time as my younger brother) I liked Tobias...

One of my first loves was Pip from Great Expectations, but he was soon eclipsed by the cartoon characters Astro Boy and Kimba the White Lion (go figure), which then yielded to Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees, winding up with David Jansen as The Fugitive, when I was about 11. I was that unfaithful.

This post is MADE for me!!
Myron Bolitar!! Love. Love. Love. And i WILL be with him!! (even if it is in my dreams)
But there is always at least one character i have a crush on in about...every three books i read.

Leela voiced by Katey Segal mostly known as Peg from Married With Children. Unfortunately when I hear Leela I think of Peg Bundy and she doesn't do a whole lot for me. Still the idea of a hot cyclops mutant from the future with a body like that is pretty appealing.
