Favorite Clever Song Lyrics

Here's a similar topic to favorite book quotes:

Anyone have some favorite song lyrics they'd like to share? They could be poetic, funny, observant, clever... whatever makes them stand out to you.

Some of my favorites are:

"How about the power to kill a yak
from 200 yards away...
With MIND BULLETS?!?!
That's telekenesis, Kyle."
-"Wonderboy" by Tenacious D

"You're crying me a river but I got to get across!"
-"The Other Side" by Aerosmith

"So from all of us at Aerosmith to all of you out there, wherever you are, remember: the light at the end of the tunnel may be you."
-"Amazing"

Anything by Morrissey, obviously! :D I'm just going to have to think about which particular lyrics... This could be difficult.

"I'm like a mirror, I'm like a mirror,
I'm nothing till you look at me."

Like A Mirror, Morphine

Jimmy Soul's If you wanna be happy :D :

If you wanna be happy
For the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife,
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall.
As soon as he marries her
Then she starts to do
The things that will break his heart.
But if you make an ugly woman your wife,
You'll be happy for the rest of your life,
An ugly woman cooks her meals on time,
She'll always give you peace of mind.

Don't let your friends say
You have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway,
Though her face is ugly,
Her eyes don't match,
Take it from me she's a better catch.

Say man.
Hey baby.
Saw your wife the other day.
Yeah?
Yeah, she's ugly.
Yeah, she's ugly but she sure can cook.
Yeah?. Okay.

"And if I die today I’ll be the happy phantom
And I’ll go chasin’ the nuns out in the yard
And I’ll run naked through the streets without my mask on
And I will never need umbrellas in the rain
I’ll wake up in strawberry fields every day
And the atrocities of school I can forgive
The happy phantom has no right to bitch"
-Tori Amos, "Happy Phantom"

I don't know what song it is, but I was listening to the radio and I heard the lines "You can feel for the winter, but don't have a cold heart." It reminds me of a character in one of my stories so it was really cool that I heard it.

The recent hit by Van Zant; I can't remember it's title now but the words are:

It's better to be hated for who you are, than to be loved for who you're not.

As someone mentioned Morrissey, his lyrics for Smiths were exceptional (probably the same for his solo too).

All of 'What She Said'

but heres my favourite lines from it.
"I smoke 'cause I'm hoping for an early death
and I need to cling to something!

But theres too many for The Smiths. Oh and probably the most famous Smiths lyrics

There's a club, if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home
And you cry
And you want to die

and the whole of The Queen Is Dead (song)

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." John Lennon's Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy).

One of my favourites; my own translation from a song by Swedish legend Evert Taube:

" 'I am from San Francisco,' said the girl, 'and that's why I'm so good at mountain climbing.'" :D
