I've read this book. I don't, however, know what movie you mean. I found a couple movies titled "The Wedding" on IMDB. Either way, neither of them seemed to be based on this book.
The book is a sequel to The Notebook, with the original couple's son in law as the main character. He feels his marriage falling apart at the same time his family is planning his own daughter's wedding. The main character (Wilson) seeks advice from his father in law on how to save his marriage. As far as I was concerned, it was typical Nicholas Sparks sappy nonsense. However, if that stuff is your cup of tea, you may enjoy it.
