I bought a book at a garage sale once, and loved it. It was called " Thorpe" or " Thorp". I can't remember the name of the author, but the story was similar to " To Kill a Mockingbird" about a seven year old girl in the South. Her father was a teacher, and got in trouble for lending books to black students. I can recall a lot of irrevelent details, but the whole story was basically about her watching/getting involved in the trouble her parents were in.
I let my grandmother borrow the book, and someone lifted it from her bookshelf.
I have tried to search for the title, but it mostly brings up people, authors, and ancestor hunts. Any help would be appreciated, because I have no idea how to find it again!
