help!

i was thinking about this old book i'd read in 4th or 5th grade. i really liked and decided i try to get it online to reread it. i was pretty sure the title was "Far North", but that doesnt seem to be right. the only book i found by that name is a survival book. the book im thinking of was the story of a guy who had escaped from a nazi concentration camp, then went searching for his mother. its been awhile since i read it, so im fuzzy on many other details. im pretty sure the word north was in the title. any help would be greatly appreciated.
