My most-hated character will always be Holden Caulfield from the Catcher in the Rye. Maybe the book is a great character study of an adolescent with too much money and time to spend, a little Peter-Pan-Syndrome and problems with sexuality, BUT it's still the worst character I've ever read of.
Other than Holden, I never really HATED characters, because in the books I prefer they rarely are black and white figures. Most bad guys have their reasons to be bad and the good guys aren't perfect,either. So I usually find a way to like all of them.
