This one is actually 2 novellas put together for one book, Old Flames and Right to Life, the latter being one of his more disturbing works which I'd read years ago.
Old Flames is about a driven career woman who, after being burned repeatedly by men in many relationships, decides to hunt down her old college sweetheart. She finds him happily married with kids, but she isn't going to let that stop her. Sounds like a Lifetime movie until the gut punch of an ending which is patented Ketchum.
Right to Life is about a young pregnant woman who is kidnapped on her way into an abortion clinic and held captive by a couple who can't have children and who want her baby. She is held chained inside a box that they made especially for her and is sometimes sexually abused by the man. To gain her freedom, she must gain their trust. Incredibly, this one is based on a true story. There's even a true crime book about it called Perfect Victim. This one is not for the meek.
