I didn't really want to read this book because I had the fixed idea that it was a war book. The only other war book I had read at the time was The Red Badge of Courage which made me want to fall over dead. I just assumed from then on that every war book was going to be as awful as The Red Badge of Courage.

My friend MADE me read it and I'm SO glad she did. Catch-22 is easily on my top-10 list of awesomeness.
