Kick Him Twice

You might only appreciate this if you’ve tried it. If you haven’t, straddle the pillion, and I’ll take you there . . .

[Innuendoes are unintentional. Honest.]

Kick Him Twice

Kick him once,
Kick him twice.
Fire him up
The spark of life.
Tease his throttle
Coaxing blips.
Hear his mighty roar.

Clutching fingers
Toes prod downward,
Ease the tension
Feel him rise.
Powerful surging
Eager, onward.
Hear him growl for more.

Squeeze your fingers,
Lift your toes,
Twist the grip –
A second surge.
Hair whips, knotting;
Frozen nose,
An icy wind
The visor closed.

Trembling triple-pistons punching.
Knees clamped to his sides.
Laughing, racing
Fleeing, chasing.
Hang tight for the ride.

Curve ahead
Prepare and lean,
Draw him over
Give him head.
Roll the wrist
And let him straighten
Leave ’em all for dead.

Red line; dead line
Throbbing metal.
Potholes
Jarring shocks.
Braking, dipping
Warm air lifting,
Lay-by. Whoa boy –
Stop!

Made me want to lick my teeth to get the bugs off just reading it.

Ahh! The bugs . . . bleeding tiny yellow trails of sickness down your leathers :)
Your streaming eyes and snivelling nose :(
Your grinning, crazy one-legged mates :( :D
The grinding wrist-bones of your clutch hand ;)
The creaking from the breaker’s yard :( :(
The (glance over the shoulder) Grim Reaper, ever-present

Yep. Could’ve mentioned the bugs. But I didn’t want to spoil the mood . . . ;)

Certainly gotta be my favorite line.

Tsk.Tsk.

To be honest, boringly honest, that line relates to the surge when you open the throttle coming out the bend, and the bike pulls you upright, much as a horse pulls when he's raring to go, and you 'give him his head'.

Maybe there's not a lot of difference between a horse and a motorbike? Just a heartbeat. ;)
