Troy, a young boy, is tethered with many problems. Pain reaches deep into his psyche. He looks out upon the sea every day for his father. Whose story he has been told throughout his life. He hopes for him to return. Instead, at a heart wrenching rate ships and sailors are swept by the current passed his small island at the edge of the earth and thrust over the waterfall into the void.
Day by day this goes on. It tears him apart. It hurts him. People travel from all over the world in hope of treasure and good fortune, and are sent instead to their deaths.
What exists at the bottom of the void? He asks himself. It keeps him up at night. Not just this question, but many others. When a mysterious, tall man visits his home near nightfall attempting to break in and kill, he must defend what he loves.
After this traumatic event he grows tired of the island and wishes to know what’s out in the world. To know what exists far in the distance beyond where his eyes can see.
After four years of working hard on a vessel to escape the island he finally sets off. Away from the murderers, thieves, hurt and afflicted. Even though he is deeply moved by the beauty of the island. But the wind and current leading to the abyss are strong. Only a few in the past, including his father, have ever sailed off and away. Most are pulled to the edge and with one last breath of fear look into the sky as they fall.
With this on his mind he marches forward out of the bay nonetheless. To find the world. To find out what’s out there. To learn more about what his father’s story means. And to find out where he’s gone…
Life at the Edge of the Earth is an inspiring story of human philosophy, ideas, hope, faith, and the effects of alienation and abandonment throughout life and society.

Thanks!
